Concert Review: Ra Ra Riot – 03.15.11

Been awhile since I’ve written about a concert, even though I’ve been to a few over the past month…so it’s time to play catch up. Back on March 15th, I got to see Ra Ra Riot with the Pomegranates at the Firebird in St. Louis.  It was a concert of frustration, fun…and a hot cellist.

Concert Review: Interpol – 02.11.11

Concert Review: Tokyo Police Club – 02.09.11

This week, I had the opportunity to see Tokyo Police Club in concert at the Firebird in St. Louis.  It was close to selling out (about 400+ people), but I was able to walk up and grab a ticket about 2 minutes before TPC took the stage.  I was running late and didn’t get to see the opening band: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. Sorry guys, maybe next time.

Usually, I don’t like going to concerts alone…I like to share new music with friends…but they all bailed on me, so I rolled solo.

Review: “Fang Island” – Fang Island…and I’ll throw in a concert review for free!

Fang Island said that they got their name from an article in The Onion. Guitarist Jason Bartell recalled, “I think it was just a funny blip about Donald Rumsfeld having a secret hideaway, and it was on Fang Island. We like how it was sort of this, like, fictional space that we imagined our music was played on.”

I loves The Onion, and I now love Fang Island even more.
