R.I.P. MCA – Adam Yauch (1964-2012)
Beastie Boys MC Adam Yauch, aka MCA, has passed away due to cancer, TMZ reports. He was 47 years old. Complete and utter sadness.

I enjoy listening dubstep, I enjoy listening Skrillex, but it won’t keep me from poking a little fun at his music. He knows how to drop it hard and dirty…but at the same time, I’ve noticed that there seems to be a constant theme to his drops. So tonight, I will use my keen teaching abilities and demonstrate how you can make a Skrillex track in 4 easy steps.

Happy Record Store Day 2012!
I want to wish you all a Happy Record Store Day! This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for today…so be sure to get out and see what your local record store has to offer. Last year I had a pretty successful haul…this year? Incredible.

Happy Friday! Let’s Blast Some Tunes!
Yeeeaaaahhhh…it’s a good day today, it’s gorgeous out, and it’s Friday. Today is just begging for a pedal-flooring drive home with the windows down, some good tunes blasting my ears to deafness, and a smile on my face. So let’s kick around in our cubicles to some Japandroids while we count down the minutes until the weekend freedom arrives…and damnit…have a good weekend!

The Flu Sucks Or: How I Missed The Radiohead Concert
March of 2012 was not a good month…for anyone in my family. The flu ripped through my family within a two week span. First my 2 year old son, who is a Radiohead fan himself, decided that he had been healthy long enough. It was time to catch the flu, which was spreading all over St. Louis. Next my wife, who is also a Radiohead fan, caught the flu and spent 24 hours out of commission. Ten days had gone by, and I though I had dodged a bullet.
No such luck…12 hours before Radiohead was going to take the stage, I found myself in the bathroom praying to Thom Yorke to end my pain.
